Origami Peacock by Slitwalker Origami Peacock by Slitwalker
gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont care what people say about my drawings, but tell me i'm crap with paper and i'll rip your head off....ok i wont, but you'd be lying to yourself;) i started working on this in september, then stopped cause it was taking too long, then started up again this summer cause i was waiting till i could visit my Jenna:)

Baby, this is for you:heart:

the worst thing about this was.....i almost had it together, then the tail went *foomph* and blew up (pieces went everywhere...i'm not kidding). the second time, it was together, i went to get my camera and it went *foomph* again:( i finally got it together. i apologize for the crappy pictures. they were taken with my webcam cause i didnt have my other digital camera and i was afraid it was gunna go *foomph* again....but it didnt, and hasnt! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

obtained the instructions from [link] the instructions were in japanese....so it was kinda hard

time: 9 weeks with a total of 1279 pieces of paper

i'll be getting better pictures up here then moving this to scraps. i also have more origami to take pictures of and stick up:) enjoy

what kind of paper did you use?

I believe it was just colored printer paper. I was thinking of using cardboard to start...but that would irritate my fingers (I'm weird like that) and would make it difficult to get crisp folds at the size needed

Of course. I pretty much use that kind of paper for all my origami unless I want it to be shiny or sturdy.

Thank you. I'd take more pictures, and better ones, but its at home:) I plan on making a larger one using sheets of 9x9 squares instead...but that isn't going so well cause I'm lacking in paper:D

Good grief, you must really possess a huge amount of patience to create something so incritcate, and out of such a difficult medium too. (The only paper things I ever made were those trurth or dare cones, and paper airplanes. My planes steadfastly refused to fly...) I'm actually very impressed. that dosen't happen very often at all. Go you.

thanks:) yeah, it does take a lot of time. but as soon as you know what you're doing, its pretty easy cause folding movements just come to you and you're able to do thinks ahead of them being mentioned. i've been doing origami since 7th grade so i've had lots of time:)
